ISSM Global Outreach Grant

• Open to projects in Category B and C countries (see World Bank Classification).

• Open to full individual members and affiliated societies with no commercial or profit interest in the project.

• Prior experience in setting up educational programs is preferred.

• Projects must be completed within 12 months of initiation.

• Up to $10,000 is awarded annually for each project, with funding available to support up to five projects globally.

• 50% of the payment of the grant amount will be paid out after signing the agreement. The remaining 50% will be paid out at the end of the project after the final project report has been received, which also should include a full account of all expenses incurred over the entire lifecycle of the project.
• The ISSM may from time to time, at its sole discretion and expense, retain the right to request an extra financial report to review the propriety of reported financial expenditures in the context of a particular grant. A final financial report is due within 90 days of the termination of the grant (see final project report).
• Unexpended funds remaining as of the termination date of the grant must be returned to the ISSM. Grantees agree to return to the ISSM remaining funds within six (6) months following the termination date.

• All applicants are required to use the Global Outreach Grant Application Form for the completion of their proposal.
• The application form can be accessed via a link on this webpage during the application window and need to be fully completed before the deadline.
• Incomplete forms and/or forms submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

• All Global Outreach Grant Applications will be reviewed by the ISSM Global Outreach Grant Committee, after which they will be subject to a final review by the ISSM Executive Committee and/or Board. The Committees aim to finalize the review within six (6) weeks.

·       An extension of the term of a Grant without any additional funds may be approved when requested and justified in writing. Extensions of term will be either for six (6) or twelve (12) months and may only be requested once for any given grant. A request for an extension must include:

o   the amount of money to be carried into the extension period;

o   a statement of why the funds were not used in the original grant period;

o   a statement of how the funds will be used during the extension;

o   an official up-to-date financial report.

·       A request for an extension must be made at least ninety (90) days before the termination date of a grant.

• Grantees are required to gather feedback from participants—such as through surveys or questionnaires—and to submit regular progress reports.

• The first progress report is due six (6) months after the start date of a grant.Acomprehensive final report should be submitted to the ISSM within 90 days of project completion.

• Note that the remaining 50% of the fund will only be paid out at the end of the project after the final project report has been received, which also should include a full account of all expenses incurred over the entire lifecycle of the project.

• Any significant changes to the project after grant approval require approval from the ISSM Executive Committee.

• The results of any work supported by a grant from the ISSM must be acknowledged in all dissemination materials (e.g., publications, scientific exhibits, scientific presentations, press releases, etc.). The following acknowledgment or its equivalent should be used: “This investigation was supported (in part) by a grant(s) from the International Society for Sexual Medicine.”

• In case the grant is used for a research project, the manuscript should be published in one of the ISSM journals, with clear indication of the ISSM support received.
