Communication Committee
The Communications Committee is dedicated to the optimal sharing of scientific information and news related to the field of sexual medicine among ISSM members. The committee is also tasked with providing state of the art information to the public through the official ISSM website, the ISSM Journals and Newsletters, and social media.

Sandrine Atallah, Lebanon
Sandrine Atallah, MD, MHM, FECSM, ECPS is a consultant in sexual medicine and a certified psychosexologist.
She graduated as a Medical Doctor from the Saint Joseph medical Faculty (2004). She then obtained her degree in clinical sexology from René Descartes University, Paris V, Faculty of Medicine (2007), and her degree in Medical Hypnosis from Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris VI, Faculty of Medicine (2005). She has also qualified as a Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (2014). She is a EFS & ESSM Certified Psycho-Sexologist (2016).
She has additionally a Master in Health and Hospital Management from the ESA (Ecole Superieure des Affaires) and Paris-Diderot (Paris VII) University (2013).
Along with her private medical practice in sexual medicine in Beirut at La Clinique du Levant and at AUBMC (WISH program), she teaches Human Sexuality at several Lebanese universities (Saint Joseph medical Faculty in Beirut and the Lebanese American University)
Secretary general of the MESSM (Middle East Society of Sexual Medicine), she was its treasurer (2017-2019) and the chairman of its Public Awareness Committee (2011-2017).
She is also a board member of the Société Francophone de Médecine Sexuelle (SFMS), the co-chair of the ISSM Communication Committee, and the social media coeditor of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
Actively working on promoting sexual health in the Middle East, she has participated in the development of the MESSM public information website. She was as well the social media editor of the MESSM and its public website (2011-2018).

Lawrence Jenkins, USA
Lawrence Jenkins, MD, MBA is a specialist in Men’s Sexual Health and Fertility. He provides specialized care in male sexual / reproductive medicine and surgery including complex microsurgical procedures and male prosthetic surgery.
After completing medical school at The State University of New York University at Buffalo with research honors, Dr. Jenkins completed his Urology Residency at the University of Miami where he served as Chief Resident. In 2014, Dr. Jenkins was the honored recipient of the International Volunteers in Urology Traveling Resident Scholarship, through which he was able to bring surgical techniques from the United States to groups of urologists in Hue, Vietnam. Following his residency training, Dr. Jenkins completed a fellowship in Male Sexual and Reproductive Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. John Mulhall at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; and Male Infertility and Microsurgery under the mentorship of Drs. Marc Goldstein and Peter Schlegel at New York-Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical College, all pioneers in their field. During his fellowship period, he received an SMSNA Young Investigator Award, an Abstract Prize for Clinical Investigation at the 2015 Annual Scientific Meeting of the SMSNA, and a Best Poster Award at the 2016 AUA Annual Meeting. He also completed a Master in Business Administration at The State University of New York University at Buffalo with a focus in healthcare management. Dr. Jenkins’ undergraduate degree was in Biochemistry at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York.
His current research interests mainly focus on sexual dysfunction and male infertility. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and authored several textbook chapters. His work may be found in leading journals such as the Journal of Sexual Medicine, the Journal of Urology, European Urology, Urology, Nature Reviews Urology, and Urologic Oncology.

I’m urologist specialized in sexual medicine from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I received my medical, surgical and urological degree from the University of Sao Paulo and had the opportunity to do a fellowship in sexual medicine and andrology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (NY, USA) with Dr John P. Mulhall.
Along with my private medical practice I’m currently member of the sexual medicine and andrology group of Hospital das Clinicas (FM-USP), where we are fortunate to work with basic and clinical research while delivering specialized care in the public health system for hundreds of patients with sexual dysfunctions from all over Brazil. I am currently affiliated to both ISSM and SLAMS, where I am part of the communication and young researcher’s committee.

Sam Ward is a urologist & andrologist working in the city center of Brussels, Belgium since 4 years. He graduated from the University of Leuven, one of the major universities in Belgium. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) and a Fellow of the European Council for Sexual Medicine (FECSM). In his daily practice, he dedicates his time to promote urologic and especially sexual health among his patients and their family. Furthermore, he is active in European and international societies, promoting sexual health around the world. Since 2 years he’s the social media editor for the European Society of Sexual Medicine (ESSM). Since last year, he is a communication officer of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM).
Recently, he got appointed as coordinator of the surgical department in Clinique Saint Jean and now actively works together with medical direction towards implementing innovative and qualitative care in his institution.
In 2017, together with fellow colleagues, lawyers and economic experts, he founded an international non-profit organization named Building Healthcare for Tomorrow (BHCT) defining new management models for sustainable care based on diagnosis initiated patient driven, data supported, added value centered care. Since more than 3 years, he’s one of the major health influencers on twitter in Belgium.
