Individuals who have diverse sexual interests/identities, gender identities/presentations, or relationship structures, often report discrimination when attempting to access medical care. It is often not obvious in which sexual behaviors the patients engage, and those behaviors may be incongruous with their stated identity or presentation. Similarly patients with specific sexual concerns are reluctant to discuss these concerns for fear of being judged. This presentation will highlight how to obtain an accurate medical history and how to inquire about sexual behavior with all patients.
