Sexual Health Q&A
Why does obesity lead to low testosterone?
In men, some testosterone is converted to estrogen, which is important for bone health. This is a normal process. However, this conversion usually occurs in fat cells. Because obese men have more fat cells, more of their testosterone is converted to estrogen, which causes their testosterone levels to drop.
