Impact Factors Report Released for ISSM Journals

Elsevier, publisher of ISSM’s Journals recently announced the release of Impact Factors for various scientific journals published in the “Urology and Nephrology” category. Impact Factor is a ratio of the citations to a journal in the most recent year to a count of articles and reviews published in the journal in the prior two years. In the report, ISSM’s Journal of Sexual Medicine had an Impact Factor of 3.339 in 2017 (up from 2.978 in 2016). The Journal of Sexual Medicine’s Impact Factor rated in the top 25% in the “Urology and Nephrology category. Sexual Medicine – Open Access had an Impact Factor of 1.457 in 2017.
The Journal of Sexual Medicine was cited a total of 9,343 times in the period of the report, which is in the top 15% of all journals in the category. The Journal of Sexual Medicine was in the top 30% for “citable items” with 169 citable items. Citable items include articles, reviews or proceeding papers but not editorial materials, letters and meetings abstracts.

The CiteScore 2017 measures the average number of citations received in 2017 to documents published in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
